I think there are some heavily rose colored glasses on this claim.
Many other software languages already had stuff like this. CPAN/CTAN
are two that come to mind easily.  And this is avoiding stuff like the
ports tree in FreeBSD or packages in various linux stacks.

All of that said, I brought this article up because it did seem
somewhat flame baity.  Was curious if it was just me.  I am curious to
know what you are referring to with other code reuse.
