Throughout the Javapassion courses you are constantly directed to on- line resources and the need for a book is minimal. If you are going to buy one I suggest you look at the index of any you are considering as this is the biggest downfall of most programming text books, they are great while you are following their learning path but are almost useless as a reference for your own early programming efforts.
