I have JAWS 6.0 and XP I am on DSL. . After reading one of the messages, on this list, I looked in my "control panel" and found that my "Windows" firewallwas off. I clicked it on. Since then, I have had a terrible time with my MacAfee and Spybot. My MacAfee says that I am not protected and I can not click on the "fix" symbol. Even my sighted wife says it doesn't work with the mouse. For some reason, prior to this, I was getting a message from MacAfee that it was updating and downloading a "anti spam" file.
I also have been getting a lot of messages from Spybot that ask if I want to allow or deny certain files that have a MacAfee title to it. I usually click "allow". I recently updated the new beta version of Spybot. I went back to "un check the"Windows" firewall but this did not change the MacAfee or Spybot messages. My questions are. Do I need the "Windows" firewall checked? and why or why not. Also, if I want to un install Spybot how should I do it? It seems to be interfering more often. Thank you.
