Hello, One way to temporarily silence JAWS is to turn off speech in the verbosity dialog. First move into the program you are going to use to record. Press Insert with V to bring up the dialog. Press the end key to move to the end of the list of items and you will move to the "speech synthesizer on" choice. Press the spacebar to turn speech off. Press enter and then start recording. To turn speech back on you can just use Alt with tab to move between programs or you can use Insert with V press the end key and then the spacebar and press enter.
