Hi Judy, Maybe if you save the attachments to, let's say, your My Documents folder you could read them there. See if the thread below will help any. It talks about Outlook 2010, but the same options might be available to your version.
Original Message ----- From: Annette Carr Hi All, I am using JAWS 12, MS-Office 2010 Outlook on a Windows 7 machine. When I want to save an attachment from an Outlook message I am having trouble getting the attachment to be saved in a specific folder. I've confirmed that the file is saving as I can search for it and find it, but it is not ending up where I want it. Here is what I am doing: . Highlight the message with the attachment in my Inbox. I do not open the message. . Use Alt+F to open the File menu and down arrow to save attachments. . A dialog box opens and I tab to OK and press Enter. This dialog box might only come up when I am saving multiple attachments from the same message all at once. . I use Shift+Tab 2 or 3 times to get to my folder list . . I use the up and down arrows to find the folder I want to put the attachment into, and press enter. . Tab to Save and press enter. Am I missing a step? How do I confirm that I have opened the folder where I want to put the attachments before I activate the save button? Thanks, Annette From: David Hello in Outlook2010, Save attachments, 1, enter on the message which contains the attached file. 2, now shift+tab one time, you will see/hear the attachment Right arrow to highlight. 3, press the applications key, up arrow and enter on either Save all attachments.... or save as. Probably easier to enter on save as. Now you will see the attachment name, Shift+tab 2 times, Your in a list of document folder, Arrow to your choice of folder, Press enter. Now tab to the save button. Let me no if this helps. David From: Brian Lee Hello Annette, Here is another method you might consider trying. After using the OK button in the first dialog box, use Alt with D to move to the address bar. Use tab three times to the tree view of folders. Expand the folders in the tree view using right arrow key or collapse them using left arrow key. Browse the tree structure until the folder you want to save the attachments in is selected. If it can be expanded press right arrow key. Press enter key to make sure it is selected. Use Alt+S to save the file instead of tabbing to the save button. Take care. Brian Lee From: Bissett, Tom When the save dialogue comes up you only need to shift tab once to bring you to the folder/file list. Jaws should say "folder view list view". Here you can arrow up and down to find and press enter on the folder you want then tab to the save button. Regards Tom Bisset Take care. Mike Sent from my iBarstool. They are listed in pairs and when I right arrow to the second one in the pair of documents and hit enter nothing happens at all. I use the application key and arrow through that to open, but it doesn't list open there to open it. The way they are listed is in pairs and I can only open up the first one in the pair. I can't seem to select the second one; only the first one in the pair. Does anyone have tips for being able to open an attachment no matter where it is located in a list? Thanks in advance. I have Windows 7 using Jaws 14 and using office outlook for my emails.
