That's happened to me occasionally. Later, it works again. Did you try going to the edit menu and trying to access the copy function that way?

Good morning all!  Using the latest version of JAWS 18, (Build 2945), I'm
encountering an issue when trying to copy text from a web page into a word
document. I am able to highlight the text, but unable to copy and paste it to my document. When I press Control C, JAWS says nothing, indicating that
nothing has been copied.  This is confirmed, when I go to my document and
press Control plus V.  The text that I selected does not copy to my
document. A sighted user can copy and paste the text without any problems.
Why is this happening?
