Keep us posted about this, please Fred? I've always wondered that was all about too.

The reason that I am trying to turn this feature off is that Freedomscientific technician told me that OCR and a couple of other features has to be uninstalled for my computer to allow the 2018 beta to be installed. When I go to programs and features jaws tells me that overlay windows has to first be turned off. I have not been able to do this. I guess I will have to call freedomscientific again for help.

Hi Fred,

I also have this always on top window on the JAWS Task List.
I am sure this is JAWS-RELATED, because I could check it by pressing INSERT+Q after switching to this window from the JTL. I think this is for the Virtual Cursor image on the screen which was introduced a few JAWS 18 updates ago, but Im not sure.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Question about windows overlay

I am using win 10 and latest jaws 18. When I press insert plus F10 to bring up the Windows list dialogue jaws says overlay windows zero on top and I would appreciate it if someone could tell me what overlay windows is and how to close it or remove it. So far I haven't been able to do anything with it.

Thanks much,
