My experience with Reader view on Firefox ESR is abysmal. It might read one little short paragraph. It never goes well on articles that are split up by multiple add frames. That’s why I read most things on my iPhone. Safari on iPhone reader view rocks compared to anything else I’ve used. It is not perfect. But compared with Firefox, it’s night and day, which I found so disappointing, as I was looking forward to using my PC to read more things once I finally got updated.
