done something wrong now, and I have no idea where to start looking. I hope
all this fiddling around will be worth it, but it's got to be better than

now, you should be able to use the applications key, and arrow to settings
and press enter.
Tab until you hear, "enable skins for simple user interface check box
checked". Press spacebar to uncheck it.
now tab ok, press enter.
now, close avast, and re-start the program.

avast, do I go into the system tray? if so, I tried that, but then jaws

I'm not using Avast, however, I believe the default is, to have Avast
update automatically.
you could also update manually, if you wanted.
also, I'm not sure if your aware, there is some helpful tips on the
jaws-users program page, to make avast a little more jaws friendly.

available updates may have already come with it. so it may be a while
for the next update (it usually updatesdaily) before the next one
takes place. or you may have just missed the announcement, while you
