hi, if you know the phones email address, you can send a message from the PC
to there number at email address.com, here is a webpage might help you out,
not all providers are listed though a few missing, cricket and one or 2
others like metroPCS are missing but the rest are there. the site is
http://www.sms411.net/2006/07/how-to-send-email-to-phone.html
for example, in a new message you would put in the too field,
9182222...@sms.mycricket.com and the rest is like sending a regular email.
the phone will receive a text message with what ever you sent pluss your
email address and can reply to that message. HTH. thanks.

This is an interesting question you pose. I have
successfully texted folks using my email, including myself,
but have not found a successful way for myself or someone
to text me back and have it arrive into my email inbox.
