I use XP and Microsoft Word 2007. I was unsure if the sounds would work with 2007 or if there was a specific link for 2007. I recieved notification that the Microsoft Word link for 2003 sounds would worrk with 2007. I installed and now have the sounds I had been searching for since I got 2007. I hope this answers your question. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Lennie" <lenni...@mchsi.com>

Hi,

Someone mentioned earlier on this list that the sounds effect is compatible. Compatible with what? Does that mean that the sounds effects from Microsoft will work with office 2007 and wwindows7? I am a little confused to say the least.

I already use the sound effects on my desktop XP computer using office 2003 and it works great!

Any feedback will greatly be appreciated since I am a little hesitant installing it on my windows7 computer for fear of causing problems which I may not be able to get out of.

Hi Jean;

Would you please tell us where this Microsoft Cleanup Tool can be gotten
or
the full name of the program/tool? This sounds like a handy tool to
have on
hand. Your help will be greatly appreciated by many. Thanks much.
Take
care.
Mike

Hello Susie,

I fought with that same problem of not being able to properly install
the
sounds for a long time. First, go to Control Panel, and if the Sounds
are
installed, you'll see a program like Sounds or something like that in
the
Programs List.

If it supposedly installed and the checkbox for sounds is checked in
Word,
then there is a problem with its installation. Trust me, simply
uninstalling
and reinstalling won't fix it. You need to run a Microsoft Cleanup
utility
which will clean the installation files up, then you can properly
reinstall
it and it should work.

When you run this program, it lists programs installed, and you can
check
the program you want and it will then clean up system files of its
history.
Contact me off list and I'll send it to you.
