Thank you, you taught me something new today because my insert key is the second key from the right across the top row. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Deanne Miller" <[email protected]>

Some laptops have an insert key, often on the top row, second key from the right. Also, often there is a jaws key on the bottom row, second from the left, just to the right of the control key. If you hold down the jaws key, the nine keys, JKL, UIO, and 7 8 9, have the number pad functions. Holding down the caps lock key and pressing these keys performs other reading functions. Experiment with your laptop and see what happens. Also, don't forget about Insert plus 1, keyboard help. You might experiment with your laptop using keyboard help and learn how it functions. That's how I learned to use both of mine.

Jaws Users,
I have been using my Dell 1545 laptop with an external number pad. My question to the list is what is the learning curve if I decided to do away with the external number pad and just use the keys on the keyboard? Is there any tutorials on this topic anywhere? I have Jaws 10 and my windows is XP. thanks for all help offered on this matter. I thought it best to learn this while school is out for the summer.
