Hi. if you've done a fresh install, it's actually asking for the authorization code. This is a long series of numbers and not the serial number.

It should be on the CD you got with the original purchase of JAWS. Or, if you were using JAWS back in the day, the first version to have this code was I think 6.0.

I had to do this last year and I had the same issue until I found the 6.0 CD. The auth code is written in Braille and presumably large print on the inside of the CD holder.

I don't remember if I used the CD or if I just typed in the numbers, but that was the code I needed to make the software stop acting like a demo.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] My serial number for activating

Hello everyone. This is the dumbest question I've had to ask in awhile, but
I got a new desk top, and have installed JAWS, but everytime I try to
activate it, I get an error code. My first thought is that perhaps I've
entered the serial number wrong. I checked the "about JAWS" section on my
laptop, which is running the current version, but can only read the last
five digits of my number. Does anyone know how to double check my number so
I can get it out of 40-minute mode?

Many thanks,

Melissa
