Hi Rich,

As far as a stand alone scanner goes, if you have the drivers / software 
installed on both computers, all you need to do is plug the scanner into 
either computer & it will work.  I would think the same would apply for a 
printer.  On the other hand, just having the drivers / software installed 
only allows the device that they are designed for to operate, the software 
by itself isn't good for anything unless it has a scanner or printer plugged 
in, to tell what to do.  It's like having an engine in a car.  The car isn't 
going anywhere without the engine to move it.  In this case the drivers / 
software is the engine that runs the scanner / printer.  If I didn't explain 
myself worth a damn, would someone please, jump in & bail my a** out?!
