David:
Thanks for all of this info.
I have the code needed.
I can't seem to find the driver for it on the dell site. I will look some
more after I fire off this email.
You provided steps earlier about windows q, mouse settings and device
settings, I do not see device settings.
I do know that the Synaptic drivers are used but I can't seem to find it on
the dell site.
I do know that particular software was removed when I upgraded as it stated
it wasn't compatible with windows 8.
Please refresh my memory on how to update the wireless card? Just to make
sure I did it right.

Kimsan

have you tried to update your wireless card drivers?
secondly,
I believe dell uses the synaptics drivers for the touchpad, do you actually
know which software is used?
you can disable the touchpad through the synaptics interface, or, you could
reinstall the drivers, then it will show in the system tray.

try;

1, windows+q=search,

2, type in change mouse settings,
you may hear,
no apps, match your search.

3, down arrow until you hear;
settings, and then a number of results, press enter.
example:settings 4 results,
now you should see, change mouse settings, press enter.
you will land into the mouse properties,

now ctrl+tab=buttons tab,
right arrow until you hear;
device settings tab,
now tab you should find a disable button.
also, you may want to find out, which third party program controls the
mousepad, synaptics, Alcs, you may want to go to the dell web site and
download the app.
install, then you will find it in the system tray.
also, you could check to see if you can't find it, in the, notification
area.

Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] updating router fermware question

Hello Folks,
Indeed it was a painless procedure.
I went to the site that I was given, saw that it said there was a firmware
update, clicked the clickable link and waited a few.
Again, this is the first time I had to do this which is why I asked but the
main reason why I have been all over this is because of the recent
developments with my dell latitude and upgrading to windows 8 pro.
I updated to windows eight pro, the day it came out, everything is working
accept for a couple of things and I am trying to figure out how to resolve
the issues.
The first issue is I keep dropping internet connection every
10-to-15-minutes only using this dell machine but the other three systems on
my network here at home never loses internet.
The second issue is the touchpad, I used to be able to press the fn key
along with function key five and it would mute and unmute the touchpad but
this no longer works.
Lol, I should've just stayed at windows 7. I have no idea what is going on
here. I'm not saying windows 8 is bad nor anything like that btw. If I
knew I was going to have this many issues, why the bother is what I am
saying.
Dell tells me I needed to contact netgear, others state try upgrading the
firmware, which I did and I am still losing connection after a while.
Anyways, that's my issue in a nutshell, thanks to all for answering my
curious question about the accessibility for updating firmware for a router.

I've done it in the past and nobody was injured in the process. It's not
that bad on a Linksys so I doubt it would be any problem on another brand.

Hi,

Has anyone updated firmware for their router, if so is it a painless but yet
accessible adventure?

I'm being told that I need to update the firmware for my netgear which is
why I am asking.

What method does one take to any who answers to accomplish this?

Thanks.
