hello there; well, regardless what I do, I cannot get the braille edge out of terminal mode.

When you start your computer, and it comes up in terminal mode, unload and then reload Jaws. Don't know if that helps with the current version, but give it a shot. You completely unload Jaws with Windows-Insert-F4. Take my advice, I don't use it anyway.
