I have a question. When I press control plus F1, I hear Ribbons Expanded,
Inactive. What does this mean and is this set as it should be for best
results and operation?

Not in Word 2007. When I toggle Control-F1, there is no announcement of any

kind. The only way I can tell for sure whether the ribbons are minimized or

maximized is to launch the context menu and see whether the minimize the
ribbons option is unchecked or checked, respectively. .
