Hi Jim, Try 1 of the following suggestions I've save in case I ever needed them:
1. press ALT Key once. This will enable the ribbon / menu bar 2. press Control TAB and this will move the PC cursor to the information bar that announces File Protection information. Use the Right Arrow once and you will hit the ENABLE EDITING Button. Hit the space bar once and your document is now off Protection mode. Or, I'm not sure this is what you're talking about but most documents I download from the web always come through in "protected" form. I route JAWS to PC cursor and arrow to where it says "enable editing," and the route PC to JAWS and then switch to VC. There may be an easier way but this works for me. Take care. The security is password protection, but I am already password-entered on the site generating the document. I recall a discussion about removing pdf protected views but did not keep the thread. How do I remove protection on pdf documents? The doc is clearly visible and it scrolls, so sighted people will have no issue reading it.
