Actually, any edition of Word since 2007 will save in PDF. I can't account for the formatting, but this is one of the big reasons I upgraded to 16 and office 2013. Only minutes ago, I handled an image PDF concerning a payday anomaly coming up at the end of the fiscal year. There were only two or three minor typo's, which I could have easily resolved had I needed the file long-term.

If it is, you will need to get the file out of protected view. To do so, press f6 to get to the area this file is in protected view then tab to and press the spacebar on the button that states allow editing.
