Oh right, thanks so much, in that case, I think I will go and pay for the 6.99
download.
Really appreciate your help.
Do you know how I actually get to the addon part to go to install it?
I looked on the web and it said go to the start menu then swipe left to the
search box but I couldn't figure out how to do that.
I think you need to search for add features but I tried this in the run box and
it didn't find any results.
I think that I will have to activate cmy copy of Windows 8 first, before
installing Windows Media Centre.

Hi Hicks,
For a period after windows 8 was launched, windows media centre was a free add
on for the professional version, so I didn't go through the same process.
However I was given a product key (just like a windows operating system key),
so I can reinstall it if I have to rebuild my computer.

David.

Hi again friends,

I have installed Windows 8 Professional now and was very disappointed to find
that it doesn't seem to come with Windows Media Centre.
I checked on the web initially and it seems that you have to purchase this on
line, as an add on, has anyone been through this process that could give me
some guidance?
I am just wondering that once you have made the purchase, what happens if you
have to re-build your machine, do you have to purchase Media Centre again?
I have not yet activated the Windows 8 as I am still trying to decide on
whether I will keep it or go back to Windows 7 but I would like to try to get
used to it.
