Hi LeDon,

You need to go into the, Notifications Customize, in the, Taskbar & Start
Menu properties & tell Jaws to show icon in Notifications & this is how Jaws
will show in the system tray.

Press the Windows key and type the word Notification in the search box. Use
down arrow to the result that says "Show or hide the notification icons on
the taskbar and press enter key. Use tab key across the controls. You will
find combo boxes for choosing between three actions that can be used for
various programs. Each combo box
has three choices: 1. Show icon in notifications, 2. Hide icon in
notifications, 3. Only show notifications. Use up and down arrow keys in
the combo boxes to make the choice you want.

You want to tab to the, Applications File for Jaws, Jaws for Windows
combobox. Arrow up / down to, show icon in notifications, 1 of 3.
Tab to the OK button, press the spacebar, tab to the Okay button again,
press the spacebar, to save your changes and exit.

Take care.
Mike

Thanks, John, that is exactly the way I thought it should work. But, on my
machine for some reason, it doesn't. I have found a work around by going
to
my desk top and finding the jaws icon. But I can never see jaws in my
system
tray even though I think that is where it is running from. I don't
understand why it is not there.

  Certainly.

  1. Go to the Jaws Window by pressing INSERT+J 2. With Jaws in the System
Tray, you are moved directly into the list of menus 3. Use your up and
down
arrows to move through the menus to the Help section 4. Press Enter to
open
the Help menu and from that point on, everything else acts exactly the
same
as it did with Jaws as a separate window.

Note: With Jaws in the System Tray, there are first letter navigation
keys
which will take you directly into a menu. The list is below.
  OPTIONS MENU, O
  UTILITIES MENU, U
  LANGUAGE MENU, L
  HELP MENU, H

  "HTH"

I decided to run jaws from the system tray. Now I do not know how to get
to
jaws training or jaws help. Can you tell me how to do that?
