There are two ways to navigate by headers:

The first one is, as already said, to press the letter H and the cursor
will go to the nexth header, no matter what level.
But headers are hierarchical and their levels run from 1 to 6, so if you
press the number 1, the cursor will go to the first level 1 header on the
page; pressing 1 again, it will go to the next level 1 header, skipping any
other headers in between, if they are levels 2 thru 6. If, instead, you
press number 2, it will go to the first level 2 header contained within that
level 1 header, and so on and so forth.

The BARD pages are a good example of this, they are designed to be navigated
by headers, using numbers.

Humberto

If using heading navigation simply amounts to repeatedly hitting the letter
H, then I guess my recently-posted question does not need to be answered.

If someone could confirm, I'd appreciate that.

why wouldn't you use the letter h to move to the headings.

I guess it comes down to personal preferences. I find I have to downarrow
too many times to get to the results.

Hi, I just wonder what issues people have with the regular google site.
I find it easy to use. Unless I am missing something I don't
understand the need for a accessible site. What does the accessible site
offer?
I notice that you can not tailor your search e.g. limiting your
results to

say the last year, month, week etc as you can on the regular site, a
great

feature in my opinion.

hello;
not sure why the google accessible search doesn't work for you, I
justt went to:

http://www.google.com/accessibility/labs/search/

had no issues.

although I just use the regular google page.

if you use;

https://www.google.com/webhp?complete=0
you will not see the
Screen-reader users, click here to turn off Google Instant.

Thanks for reply. When I try your suggested link, I get a "webpage has
expired" message. I tried putting the original address with the same
results.

Others have had the same problem. Try https://startpage.com It uses
Google as the underlying search engine and the results are very
accessible. Use the heading quick key to jump to each result.

Hi list. I have been using google accessibility search engine for
some time, but for the last week I get a error 404 message when I
put in a search term. The search engine on google's main page works
fine, but this

is a lot more difficult to use for me than the other. I tried both
IE and

firefox with the same results. I am using vista and jaws 13. Has
anyone had similar difficulties? Sorry if this topic has been
covered. Thanks For answers to frequently asked questions about this
