No, that would defeat the purpose. I will try to find out how to turn it on.
I won't be able until tomorrow.

I'm thinking to turn it on you must go into the console. if jaws doesn't
announce anything in the console I can't turn it on.
speech needs to be default in softwares because it is no problem for sighted
computer users to turn off the speech!
it just may be annoying to them, but they need to look at it from our stand
point!

Yes in the latest versions it is bundled but by default it is not turned on.
If you can't find how to turn it on let me know and I will try to find out.

I believe you need to install the java access bridge to access the java
console. The access bridge is included in the latest version of java but it
needs to be turned on. I have not done this myself for a long time and I do
not recall all the details. You can google it or maybe some one on the list
has more information on the access bridge.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] JAWS And JAVA 1.8

Hi friends,

I have a web site that JAVA is blocking, I need to add it to the acceptions
site list but I can't figure out how to do this, is anyone able to help please?
You are supposed to be able to go the control panel in Windows 7/8 and then to
java and security where you can add a trusted site.
Unfortunately, when I go in to the JAVA control panel, JAWS won't read
anything, is there any way to get around this?
I have tried searching on the web and creating an exception.site file in what
would appear to be the correct folder but MSIE11 is still blocking this site.

Any help would be much appreciated.
