I have a question.

I updated to Windows 10 and am currently using Jaws 16 and will be installing 17. But, I won't do that until this problem is solved.

I was one of those who gost a cumulative update from Microsoft that didn't go through properly.

Every day just four in the afternoon, my PC restarts because Windows is still trying to get the update. I understand that this won't be fixed until Microsoft comes up with a fix for this. Is there a way to push the time to say, 2 in the morning?

I need to do something so that my programs that run on my station don't get interrupted. Any help is definitely welcomed and appreciated.

When I click on the get windows 10 icon in my system tray it tells me it's
validating my windows or something like that then it says it'll notify me
when it's ready. How do I know when It's ready? How will I be notified?
Via email and if so which email address will it send it to?
Thanks
Johna

Hi all,
I just wanted you to know that you can up grade to Windows 10 with JAWS
16.0.4350 or JAWS 16.0.4463. You do not have to wait until you receive JAWS
17 to up grade. I up graded with JAWS 16.0.4350 and the experience couldn't
have been better. You can use Narrator to do the last couple of steps and
JAWS will come back talking. When it does, just remember to uninstall JAWS
and Reinstall JAWS even if you upgraded from Windows 8.1. It makes things
work so much better in Win 10 if you do. Take care.

It appeared to me, when I purchased my new SMA for JAWS 18 and 19, and
upgraded to 17, that the disk would cost $10. I saw nothing to make me
believe that I would be receiving one by mail. I then talked to FS Sales, to
make my SMA purchase, and nothing was said about them sending me the disk
either. So, unless someone receives one and posts that they did, then I am
assuming that there will be no disk sentt.

sighted assistance necessary

Hello Gang:

I tried to upgrade an older Dell laptop to Windows 10, yesterday, through
the MS Accessibility Help Desk. But, was unsuccessful, because I had so many
Windows 7 updates to download and install. Still having to download some
today.

However, here is my point. While talking to one of the MS helpers, he told
me, "Well, Sir, you know that when we do the download for Windows 10, there
will be a time, when there is no connection with us, and sighted assistance
will be necessary." I replied, "Well, I understand at that point, I can turn
on the narrator and complete it without sighted assistance."

He said, "I don't think that is really the case. You need sighted
assistance."

Well, according to the notes from Jim Flusche, The narrator is totally
useable, after the 10 install. Or did I misunderstand Jim's instructions?

Two final questions:

1. Does FS send out CDs for the JAWS 17, for those of us with a SMA?

2. Would a CD be a good thing to have for starting a new Windows 10
computer, or can that be done via narrator, as well.

Thanks. Have a great Sunday!

Neil
