Patti,
        I was shocked when I first found out that when you deleted an email
it was moved from you inbox folder to a deleted folder and not removed
completely from outlook.  Once discovering this I then, started using the
"Shift + Delete" which will wipe it right then and there and not place it in
your deleted folder.  BE careful when you do this, it's final no changing
your mind.  At least when you do a regular "Delete" you have a second chance
to change your mind in the "Delete" folder.
