To save a bit of key pushing to get to the deleted items folder to empty it, from the inbox, you can press alt+e followed by Y and Y again for yes I'm sure I want to delete the lot.
You can even go one stage further and have the deleted items folder emptied automatically when you close OE. This option is found in the tools, options, maintenance tab. Personally I don't use it because there have been occasions when I was grateful that the message was still in the deleted items folder after I realised I'd deleted something that I now wished I hadn't. Patti, I was shocked when I first found out that when you deleted an email it was moved from you inbox folder to a deleted folder and not removed completely from outlook. Once discovering this I then, started using the "Shift + Delete" which will wipe it right then and there and not place it in your deleted folder. BE careful when you do this, it's final no changing your mind. At least when you do a regular "Delete" you have a second chance to change your mind in the "Delete" folder. Boy Lisa, Don't you clean out your deleted folder once a day, or every other day?
