Well, I'm definitely not volunteering to write an open-source version
of JAAS. :-(

P.S. The pluggable security scheme I'm considering doesn't require
JAAS. It can use it for standards-based authentication. If
redistribution is difficult because of licensing issues, another form
of authentication is ok too. (EJB has its own authorization
scheme.)
P.P.S. I haven't read the relevant licenses, and I have no legal
training. If you all feel that those two problems somehow cancel
each other out, I'd be happy to offer my opinion on the current
discussion. :-)
