This little homeboy actually went and, like, read specs and stuff, and
here's da gory details:
"The Transaction Manager allows multiple threads to be associated
with the same transaction concurrently, in the same JVM or in multiple
JVMs."

The answer is hence, Yes, it can be associated with several threads at
the same time. Go figure. 

So, get/setPropagationContext is needed.

(But Marcs description of how RMI threads can be reused and all that is
still wrong)

Alright, that shouldn't be that hard to do.
