I think you will get the same answer, run a profiler and find out what is taking the 1200 ms. It should be obvious. If you can't fix whatever is taking all the time, come back and complain about "x" being really slow. My guess is the data isn't cached and it is taking 1199 ms to get it from the database and 1 ms to build the value object.
