The JDE does not use a shell to run or debug applications. It launches an
application or the debugger/application vm directly as a subprocess of
Emacs/XEmacs. So whatever your problem is, it has nothing to do with
jde-quote-classpath.

You should be aware that there is something wrong with the way the native
NT version of XEmacs launches processes that affects Java applications. I
have heard that the Cygnus version of NT/Emacs does not suffer the problems
but cannot verify this myself as I do not use XEmacs.
