Hi Tim,

If you still feel you are cut out for programming then I suggest that you
get your nose to the grindstone and read a book, pick a programming
language that you are interested and start *hacking away at it*. The only
way that you are going to learn on your own is to get your hands dirty so
to speak. That's the way I learned and I believe it is the *best* way!

If you still feel overwhelmed then maybe take a beginner programming course
at your local college or school to get you up to speed. They will teach you
the basics such as problem solving, flow charting, psuedo-code, etc...
These type of basics I took in a 2 year computer course in my last two
years of highschool way back in the late 70's. Being strong in math,
especially Algebra, will also help you to figure out how to create an
algorithm to solve common programming problems such as what you are trying
to solve now.

If you have this basis then eventually it gets easier and you won't be so
frustrated trying to figure it all out...

Greg.

Alan,

I am sorry but I don't see it that way. Just because I cannot solve a
problem that I have set myself, doesnt mean I have to walk away from the
whol thing.

I am sorry but I do not agree with you suggesting, on the basis that you
have, that I am not cut out for programming.
I do not see it that way at all.
