Thanks. I did a search in Jaws help for aria. The first entry I found was so confusing to me. It mentions drag and drop which I've never been able to get working with any version of Jaws and so this following instruction I'm quoting makes no sense to me.

" Command Descriptions for HTML

*Open and select ARIA drag-and-drop items* use *WINDOWS Key+CTRL+EQUALS*. This keystroke opens the ARIA Drag and Drop dialog box. It shows a list of droppable objects, as tagged by the author, on the current Web page. When you select one of these objects, JAWS will move focus to that object. If no droppable objects are available, JAWS will announce the message, “No droppable elements were found on the page” instead of opening the dialog box when you press *WINDOWS Key+CTRL+EQUALS*."

from the glocery...
" Glossary *ARIA*
ARIA (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) is assistive technology markup used by Web content creators to make Web pages more accessible for screen readers.

So far this isn't working as intended for me.
From Jaws Internet Explorer help...
"Visit the Freedom Scientific Screen Reading Software Documentation <http://www.freedomscientific.com/documentation/screen-readers.asp> Web page, and read the JAWS Support for ARIA document to learn more about JAWS and ARIA markup."

I didn't find anything about aria on the page linked above.
I have not found anything that combines all this information together. I also have not found a reference to "application mode". I may have missed it while jumping around the help system.

This is becoming a tipical waist of time for me. I often seem to get lost using Jaws help.

Beats me, but I just got off the phone again with FS and it turns out that this Application Mode nonsense is bound up with something called ARIA. In the JAWS online help, locate the application-specific information on either Internet Explorer or Firefox and you should find out more than you ever thought you'd want to know about ARIA. I told them pretty clearly that they need to get something into the online help that us dumb users will be able to find and an entry about ARIA ain't good enough. Fact is that I never heard of ARIA until today and wouldn't have known to look it up.

What’s the laptop keyboard equivalent of Numpadplus?
