There's a hotkey combo? Really? What is it? Does JAWS have to be on the desktop for the hotkey shortcut to work, as I took it off my desktop. Call me weird, but I'm not a fan in the least of the desktop. The less cluttered it is for me, the better. I just figure why, when I have the start screen, formally the start menu, as well as the run dialog, plus, if something isn't easy to get at, I'll manually make a .lnk shortcut then link it with a hotkey. Worst senario, I'll go in and create an system environment variable so that I can quickly use the run dialog. For instance, I was saddened that as of Windows 8, I couldn't write to my root c:\ directory any longer. Though I know exactly why Microsoft did this, I still don't like the fact I can't do it, being I'm so used to it. I neither like going to run though and typing c:\users\Chris, so for me, I now have a variable of h, for home, so now, I can just go to run and type %h% and hit enter, and boom, I'm there! This said, I don't use the desktop much, so, does that shortcut only work if JAWS is on the thing? If not, then what is it? Ctrl+Alt+J?

Chris.

I have had this same problem since using JAWS 15. I am running windows 8.0
32-bit. I use the "hotkey" combo in order to get JAWS started after I log
in.

Maybe someone has another solution.

Subject: Strange problem with run jaws after logon

Hi,

am using jaws 15 64 bit on a Windows 8.1 machine.

In the jaws window>options>basics, I made sure run jaws after logon was
checked, as well as to run at the logon screen. JAWS is doing just fine
with running at the logon, but as soon as I type my password, then hit
enter, jaws won't automatically start. I manually am having to go to the
run dialog and type jaws15, then hit enter.

Is this a known issue with JAWS 15 in combination with Windows 8.1? Is
there a little trick to get this to work? Like I said, it works fine on the
actual lock screen and on the logon screen, but yeah.

Chris.
