I apologize if someone already suggested this, but often in Internet Explorer, when ENTER won't work on a link, Control plus ENTER works. No idea why, and it happens on some pages, but not others.

For a long time in Outlook, I had to go to the second character in a link to make it open. So, with one that began http..., I would right-arrow once to the first t, then press enter to execute the link. You might try that. Does it make sense?
