I have both RealPlayer Plus (5) and G2 on my system, and I use them
interchangeably. On the audio side, the only real significant difference
seems to be the wider choice of presets available on G2. Although much has
bveen made on this list of the easier accessibility of G2 vis-a-vis
RealPlayer 5, I do not think the difference is substantial.
According to Real Network, the more significant difference in
programming between the two is visual; primarily in the capacity to control
videoplays of live-broadcasts/feeds and so-called "streaming".
In short, if you are interested in obtaining live music via the
internet, G2 is worth the additional expenditure. If you're not, I do not
think it makes much of a difference to a visually disinterested user whether
you have G@ or RealPlayer. The added presets on G2 such as CBS.COM and
ABC.COM, can usually be reached manually through the standard WWW keying.
