Dennis this is very interesting, I will have to try it. I use a decktalk
express and my work machine I have to use the dte driver provided by JFWl.
My home machine I use the dectalk express drivers provided by dec.
Thanks for this information.

Subject: Re: THE STARTUP MENU V RUN JAWS FIRST OPTION

Hi,
I just shut everything down, restarted the system in Safe mode, and hit my
Control+Esc key to get the Start Menu up and hit "J" to run the JFW!
shortcut I keep there for such uses...ran just fine! I have the "Run Jaws
first" option checked, but that isn't applicable in safe mode.
What synthesizer do you use...does it have specific drivers to run before
FW
can access it? I'm using the DoubleTalk internal.
Incidentally, for anyone interested...Safe mode can be accessed without
using the boot menu's item#3. If you stop in DOS with the BootGUI=0 in
msdos.sys, or use an empty win.bat file in autoexec.bat, or however you
boot
to the DOS prompt, you can use the command line argument of "/D:M" on the
"Win.com" line when running that particular Windows session. You'd change
to the C:\Windows subdirectory and use the command, "Win /D:M".
There are several other switches you can use with the Win command--to get a
list of them, type "Win /?".

Thanks,
Dennis Brown
