Hi Jean,
My experience has been to use the gateway program with
Jaws.
The main advantage of gateway is the gateway/kill command which shuts
down gateway cleanly. My impression was that, once started, Screenpower
made Jaws less stable, and as i wasn't particularly using its extra
functionality, gateway did the job just as well.
Shutting down gateway before exiting the dos box is important.
You can do a very limited amount of "alt-tabbing" while gateway is
running,
but when returning to the dos box, maximise the window and then type
something
on the keyboard to "bring gateway back to life".
As a general recommendation though, try not to mix dos and windows work.
I've not done any real work with Jaws driving the braille display while
in dos, so I can't comment on how usable and friendly it is.
Hope this helps a little, good luck using Jaws. It's pretty good,
most of the time, and is better implimented and more stable than the
competition.
