Hi Carlos,
It is rather strange...the notebook responds okay when it comes out off
stand-by mode but it's JfW that acts a little silly. Usually solved by
un-loading JfW and re-loading JfW. I don't really want to turn off the power
management settings as it would shorten the charge of the battery, and, I
work on the battery quite a lot and want to preserve as much time as
possible.
Another thing about resolutions: the notebook worked fine in 8 x 6 and 256
colours but when I changed it to 8 x 6 and 16 K colours JfW didn't read the
"sys tray" anymore, only identifying one graphic. That is, there was only
one graphic seen by JfW. Now, weird, I increased the colours to "True
Colours", 64K , I think, and wow, all the graphics from the sys tray were
there, but of course, with different numbers. I needed at least the 16 K
colours as I like to run the Encyclopaedia Brittanica and it won't have
anything less. So I'll continue trying the higher colours for a while and
see what happens.
All the best,
Andy
P.S. All background, effects, screensavers are set to H.J's recommended
settings - none.
