I would like to recommend either of two editors: Textpad, and Notespad.
They are both freeware or shareware, and are both listed on the web site for
this group--I believe.
They both allow one to easily switch between files, as you requested.
Textpad is a little more flexible.
The thing I like about it is that you can configure the keyboard to
encompass any of the commands.
