ted if you had a zip drive you would find it much faster.
plus one can use jfw to fix things in windows instead.
the zip disk allows one to reboot in windows.
it takes about 3 keystrokes after using the key to launch jfw.
presto, everything restored.
one caviat, software speech presents a possible twist in getting up and
running in safe mode.
of course to use the norton dos emergency disk one also needs hardware synth.
it would be nice if microsoft offered 2 safe modes, one wher it would come up
only loading the sound card driver for blind users.
actually just the ability to change what safe mode loads would be all that it
would take.
their may be a solution for this problem, that i do not know of.
their was discussion on the list awhile not sure of all the factsback then.
personally i have not tried it with software speech.
with all that said the newest version of norton utilities may be the easiest of
all, it boots from a cd rom to fix stuff.
