system: This is an arkenclone pentium I don't know much about hd
capacity and ram but it has a video card that works with jfw and an sb
16 sound card.
History:
I installed jfw3.2 from the cd received yesterday on a windows.95
system. It was working fine till we decided to upgrade internet
explorer using the cd. during the install process, the system
crashed. When windows came back up after reboot, an error message
saying that the o l e libraries were not properly installed came up.
After removing jfw from the boot line up, windows came up ok but
subsequent attempts to install stopped speaking after doctor jaws was
supposed to start speaking.
I could finish the install, but when launched, jfw would report the
same error.
We installed windows.98 and only had one slight glitch but removing
the autoexec.bat and config.sys fixed this. the problem was that as
the system booted windows.98 for the first time it hung with 12 mins
to go.
With a clean install of windows.98 we then attempted to install jfw
and when doctor jaws was finished and jfw was about to run, we were
informed that the ssil.jls file could not be found. Incase there was a
problem, we found it on the cd and copied it over to the jfw32
directory, restarted jfw and got the same message.
Note: talking to jfw tech support concerning the lack of speech during
the windows.95 attempt produced the result that there must be a wave
setting incorrect. they were all set correctly. all volumes were at
maximum and installing windows.98 did allow us to get speech at least
through doctor jaws.
