Hi, I believe that zip drives require bi-directional parallel support but I
do not believe the Alva does. I have an alva at work and I tried to put a
bi-directional printer into the alva's pass-through port, one of the ink
printers I support, and it wouldn't work. However, I now have the alva
display and my Braille printer, which does not require bi-directional
support working together just fine.
