Far as I know, the date isn't displayed anywhere, so it can't be read.

As a matter of only passing interest, IBM's Screen Reader for OS/2 ... a
vastly better operating system ... *does* permit you to get both the
current time and date from the system upon demand.  You see, Screen
Reader, unlike JFW, is able to get down to the system-level BIOS
information and read it.  It's only too bad that the Micro$oft public
relations and sales juggernauts won out, because every technical
comparison ever done has ranked OS/2 the superior solution and Screen
Reader is still the standard for such applications, imo.
