well nick you could not be more wrong here.
all my messages dealt with jfw either through access or key issues.
maybe it is my fault for not making myself clear.
first of all partition majic which used to be dos is now a true win 98 apt, and
yes it does work with jfw, in a speech friendly manner,
and the program is documented in the version of the software.exe file i am
about to be releaseing by rob hubbard.
that covers the partition majic issues.
also the original issue was about system commander had nothing or little to
do with what happened in
in dos or with the key, that question was the user able to use jfw with the
part of the program that resides in windows, where the user can go in to the
win 9x or n t operating system and use jfw to make changes to the program with
jfw speech.
according to denis it can not do this,
while the boot sector program from power quest can.
those changes would give the user the ability to change the default drive, but
the question once again was can jfw do this in windows.
true the discussion also had to deal with the issue of keys.
for me those were the least rellavent jfw questions ask in this thread.
Nick not sure if you understood partition majic is now a true win 9 x apt.
no longer is it a dos apt, so maybe that is what through you.
in addition most people using utilities it would seem would want to know how
to avoid screwing up the key.
so all i can say is my questions and answers on this thread are definitely on
topic, dealing with jfw being able to access these programs, and are not just
key issues.
though once people on this list said that these programs could not be used
because of key
problems i did step in to explain that they can be used by removeing the key.
here once again with partition majic i was essentially saying that one can
remove the key and still enjoy access to jfw in windows with out loseing
speech.
many people new to computers are amazed to hear that they can do things with
no key on their system.
this point is also directly jfw and windows related.
true their 2 methods to do this, one being put the key disk into drive a.
the other method i did not want to discuss because i have silch knowledge
about the new key system being used.
and to discuss that would require telling people how to do it with both keys,
the everlock key and the newer key hj is now using.
part of the reason i was not clear, had to do with the way i spread out my
answer over several questions.
usually as a result of people asking for a little more info each time, so i
apologize for that, because this message here pretty much documents the whole
thread and provides all rellavent info.
i may have gone off on a little tangent to explain that a person can safely use
these programs
if they know how to use these programs properly,
but doing so requires a little knowledge to use them properly, with out
destroying the key.
even their i only did that to show that proper use must be used to protect the
key.
