I think this has been discussed here, but I don't know when and don't have
copies... I just bought an ATI 3D Rage Pro (AGP) video card to replace an
STB NVIDIA ZXV 8MB card which flatly refused to work with JAWS. With the
new ATI, I first tried the drivers that came on the CD, then the Default
drivers on the HJ web site (listed for the card on the video compatibility
page), and finally the drivers pointed to by the HJ web site as being
16-bit drivers for the card. None seem to work, the worst symptom being a
fairly immediate crash upon any attempt to open the Start menu (GPF in
OSM16.DLL). I'm not convinced that the Default drivers loaded correctly,
because I can't seem to get Windows 98 to recognize the ATIUPD.INF file as
a valid driver installation file. Also, the "16-bit" drivers seem to have
been replaced on the ATI web site with non-16-bit drivers (according to my
reading of the release notes for the drivers). HJ says they tested
versions 4.10.2330 and 4.10.2319 of the drivers, whereas the version I am
getting is 4.10.2440.
So... where do I go to get drivers that will work with this thing?
