Doug and listers.  before you give up on drivers, you might want to
try things like turning off all the bells and whistles and setting the
refresh rate to adapter default.  I've discovered that many cards want
to automatically set to optimal and this can cause problem with jfw on
some systems.  If adapter default doesn't work, try 60 hz.
