Thanks, I found a mostly successful solution (I'll indicate the reamining
problem in a separate message). 60Hz refresh rate helped. I had to
specify to Win98 which monitor I am using before I could even get to that
option. Adapter Default seemed worse than Optimal, believe it or not.
Also, using a pickup coil and a tape recorder, I determined that the
actual refresh rate being used, despite what Windows claimed, was not
changing--at least if I understand correctly what I heard. The refresh
rate I am hearing is 60Hz no matter what I set it to...so maybe it was
just necessary to make the figures jibe with the facts. :-)
