Scott, the synthesizer was purchased through maxi aids, but I wasn't the
one who purchased it. I have had it for about two years. It was purchased
by the state of virginia when they purchased my computer system. I don't
think my counselor knew about thees problems with the dec when he purchased
it. I hadn't a clue about them myself. The gentleman who installed the
software said that as far as he knew that I've got the latest drivers for
dectalk pc internal. So, I guess I'll just have to play the access 32 by
ear. I sure hope that it works better than this card is doing. It seemed
to work pretty well their for a while and here lately, it seems to want to
lock up and the only way I can get speech again is to either switch to
eloquence or restart the computer. I don't mind using eloquence, but I
don't have the sb live yet to support duel sounds. So, that presents a
problem when I go to run audio programs such as vox chat or vox phone. I
plan to get the sb live card at the beginning of this month since dvh is
getting me the access 32 software. The other problem with using eloquence
is that it is a crippled version and will not work with openbook which I
have to use from time to time because I am total. Good luck with your
endeavor of the dec express and let me know how it works out for you.
