When using Ctrl-Shift-Right_arrow to select a word in WordPad, JAWS 3.2
should say "select" and then just that word--i.e., as I select three words
of "this is a test" in sequence, I should hear, "Select this, Select is,
Select a." However, on a Win98 machine we recently acquired, I hear,
"Select this, Select this is, Select this is a." This was true with the
(very uncooperative) STB NVidia card that came with this Dell computer,
and remains true now that I have replaced that with an AGP ATI 3D Rage Pro
card, using drivers provided on the HJ web site to achieve functionality.
Has anyone else seen this before, and is there a fix?
