Contrary to what some on the list advise, I believe it is best to let the
computer boot up with jaws for dos running if you have a hardware
synthesizer. I have mine set up to open in dos. I then activate a batch
file that unloads Jaws and goes into windows. It is a extra boot up step
but it solves a lot of problems.
Windows is a DOS based program. By starting up in Dos I can run ScanDisk
and not have to guess what is happening after Windows has crashed the
system. Defragging the system takes less time when ran from Dos.
On shut down the batch file mentioned above again activates Jaws and I know
when Windows has done its thing and it is safe to turn the computer off.
